Boards for arched surfaces

The use of individually processed MODUL-FLEX® plasterboards largely facilitate the shaping of multi-corner or arched surfaces. Their application significantly reduces the time of construction and assembly of complicated interior decoration elements.

Use the elaborated boards to shape arches and pillars without soaking and manual cutting. Plasterboards of normal design and size shall be cut on the production line in every 1 or 3 centimetres down to the depth of the second cardboard coating.

Thanks to these cuttings no tension arise on the surace during the assembly. This way you can easily shape arches, independent partition walls, oblique plane walls; you can build new round-pillars or cover existing square-columns up to a height of 6 metres.

You can prepare a min. 120 mm inner diameter pillar out of the 1-cm-cut board, while a min. of 32 cm inner diameter pillar out of the 3-cm-cut board.

For new pillars and arched partition walls you are advised using the 3 cm-cut boards. When making new pillars, the metal or wood frameworks (profiles) shall be fixed by metal screws to the floor and the ceiling. Modul-FlexŽ plates shall be fixed to this construction. Should the height of pillar exceed 2 metres, use the special metal extension-rings designed for this purpose.
If you would like to achieve a pillar of smoother surface - without finishing - the 1-cm-cut board should be sticked on top of the inner board.

- Modular plasterboards are easy to shape manually without pre-soaking in water.
- Shaping arched surfaces is faster (cost effective), therefore its very popular among contractors.
- Cuttings do not weaken the structure, however application is much more simple. It can be sticked to the wall by flexible adhesive mortars.
- Tailor-made individual structures can be shaped from Modul-Flex plasterboards without soaking and manual cutting.

There are two kinds of plates available:
From the 1cm-cut modular plates, you can make pillars of min. 12 cm Diameter.
From the 3cm-cut modular plates, you can make pillars of min. 32 cm Diameter.

- Pillars up to 6 m height can be developed from the system.
- When making ornaments or round-columns over existing structures you need using disconnectable metal rings and frames.
